Important Reminder:
Early dismissal tomorrow at 11:45
Valentines:
We will be having a small celebration for Valentine's Day tomorrow. It is your child's and family's choice if you wish to participate or not. We ask that if your child chooses to give out cards, that they include everyone in their class, to avoid hurt feelings. Mrs. McDougall's class has 24 students and Ms. MacDonald's class has 24 students.
Also, as a reminder, we ask that you not include any food items with your Valentine's.
What did we do in Grade 2 today?
- we look at the relationship between 2D and 3D shapes - See if you can find cylinders, cubes and rectangular prisms in your house
- we worked on solving increasing pattern problems
- we continued to work on the wetland animal problem
- we learned more about the daily life of people on the east coast - music, food and festivals
- we learned that the Mi'kmaq first nations used the land for food and tools
- we organized our ideas in an idea web and then cut and glued it in the order we liked
- we saw and tried some of the games Inuit played and learned that they used games like this to get strong for when they were hunting and surviving
