Today in writing we learned how to write Haiku poems. First we practiced how to find out how many syllables a word would have. You can take sometime to practice this with me. Here is a video below to help. In a traditional Haiku poem the first line has 5 syllables, the 2nd 7 syllables and the 3rd line has 5 syllables. After learning about the formate of a Haiku poem we brainstormed words wrote the syllables then used the words to create a poem.

In Social Studies we began learning about the different types of transportation that would be used in the Arctic, East Coast and Prairies. Then we used a venn diagram to think about whether the form of transportation would be used in the past, present or both. Use the picture below and discuss why it might be from the past or present. Discuss how it is different from trains in the past or present.
