We started our morning with Table Time. Today we had to count and show how many using tallies.
We also Learned how to do a Number Talk. This is when we practice doing math facts in our head - we call it mental math. We worked on making ten as a strategy. We are working on becoming
- accurate
- flexible
-and efficient (that means fast)
We listened to this book and learned how to make sure we check for understanding while reading. We also made predictions.
During writing time we thought about our friends and what we like to do with them. We then had an opportunity to write about that during Work on Writing.
We got to explore magnets! We made predictions as to which things the magnets would stick to. We had many wonderings about for instance how magnets work, where they come from and what they are used for. One of the things we learned was that magnets did not stick to all metal things in our room. We had many surprises and even more wonderings after exploring.
After reading the book Beautiful Oops we tried our own art using our imaginations.
We found out there's a lot of creative kids in our class.
