Thursday October 10th

Today during literacy we read to our selves the wrote a book tub response by making a connection to the book we read. Ask me about my book tub connection. Perhaps over the long weekend you can read a book and make a connection together.
During math we used a number line to try adding. To come up with an addition sentence we took two playing cards and turned the first on into a ten to make a double digit numbers then added it to the single digit number. You can practice adding with me by using playing cards.

In word work we thought about word families made from the word chipmunk then brainstormed words that would fit into each category.

In social we continued our conversation about what the land looks like on the Prairies, Arctic and East Coast. We read the book If you're not from the Prairies and where picture detectives to use clues that described the land. Ask me about words that describe the prairies.

We also had a chance to watch a video about how people live in the Arctic and  thought about what the land looked like
